Stop the Press

October 20, 2010 By Mike Shess

Two Karl Strauss posts in one day? Whatever, man, they’re doing news-worthy work.

If anyone knows how to throw a party it’s the San Diego Press Club. They have the longest schmooze hours of any event. What’s cool is they invite a host of restaurants to cater food at individual booths. That way, you eliminate the dull rubber chicken dinner and knosh on great stuff from the likes of Cowboy Star, Marine Room, Bertrands at Mr. A’s, Jsix, and Addison’s - just to name a few.

And, why was West Coaster there? For the beer of course!
Karl Strauss had a monopoly on the event with the only beer booth. They also poured full pints non-stop until the last award. It was bottled, but no complaints. Full (free) plastic cup of Red Trolley, Tower Ten IPA, Oktoberfest, Amber, or Woodie Gold? Yes, please.
