Pure Project expanding to Carlsbad

Miramar brewery announces second work-in-progress satellite location

November 8, 2018 By Brandon Hernández

When it rains it pours…at least in Pure Project Brewing’s rain forest. The Costa Rica-conceived, Miramar-based brewery recently announced it is installing a 2,000-square-foot tasting room at the base of The Park mixed-use development in Bankers Hill. Given its prime position near Balboa Park as well as the Downtown and Uptown portions of San Diego that was big news. And so is today’s announcement that Pure Project is in the process of obtaining the necessary approvals for another location, this time in Carlsbad. The proposed project site is located at 2825 State Street, within the North County coastal community’s village area. It comes in at approximately 2,000 square feet and, if approved, will feature an indoor/outdoor open concept layout.

“A North County location is something we have been looking at adding to help serve the North County population who may not make it down south due to distance,” says Pure Project co-founder Jesse Pine. “We are really excited about this potential location for its ability to serve the North County San Diego population and hopefully introduce more people to our brand who may not have been to the Miramar location.”

Details are still developing as this project is in its early stages, but in terms of aesthetic, co-founder Mat Robar says the location will be outfitted to fit its coastal environs while staying true to “a distinctly Pure vibe.” As with the Bankers Hill location, Pure Project will release upcoming information about the spot via a venue-specific Instagram account. And like the Bankers Hill and Miramar sister spaces, the Carlsbad location will allow the One Percent for the Planet company to extend the charitable works it has become known for in tandem with its beer.

“We currently work with and support local non-profits like the San Diego chapter of the Surfrider Foundation and San Diego Coastkeeper, so we are naturally hopeful about the opportunity to open a location closer to the coast in such an iconic city,” says Robar.

To follow along with the process at this location, Pure Project encourages fans to follow the newly-created Instagram account @pureatthevillage.
