The results of the San Diego International Beer Festival are in, and San Diego County breweries were awarded 54 medals in 54 style categories. That’s an average of a medal per category, and those awards were evenly distributed throughout metallic tiers. A total of 38 breweries brought home 19 gold medals, 17 silvers and 18 bronzes. The companies that nabbed the most hardware were Kearny Mesa’s Societe Brewing (5) Carlsbad’s Rouleur Brewing (4) and San Marcos’ Rip Current Brewing (3). Pizza Port’s quartet of county brewpubs also combined to win four medals. Societe and Rip Current had multiple gold medals, winning two apiece. San Diego County breweries swept a pair of categories—European Lager and Imperial Stout. The full list of local winners is as follows:
