A slew of anniversary celebrations plus the dawning of some new brews

January 2, 2020 By Brandon Hernández

Saturday, January 18 | Anniversary Invitational: Do you like Burgeon Beer Co…and a bunch of other cool breweries, too? Then Burgeon’s anniversary festival is for you. They’ll have their own rare and mainstay creations on tap along with offerings from more than 30 breweries plucked from near and far. In keeping with the craft camaraderie, proceeds will benefit the San Diego Brewers Guild. | Burgeon Beer Co., 6350 Yarrow Drive, Suite C, Carlsbad, 12-4 p.m.

Saturday, January 18 | Bagbyfest 4: Each year, Bagby Beer Co. rolls out an extensive and deliciously varied array of food and beverage centered around cultural and geographic themes. This year, they’ve set their sights on Northern Italy. Enjoy beer, wine, spirits and cocktails paired with specialty dishes from the multi-story brewpub’s kitchen at this festive annual free-for-all. Mangia! | Bagby Beer Co., 601 South Coast Highway, Oceanside, 5-10 p.m.

Saturday, January 25 | Anniversary Party: Nobody does a parking-lot party quite as well as Pure Project Brewing. It helps to have a lot as big as theirs and they don’t waste a single bit of space, installing tents for the dispensing of beers stockpiled all year long (and beer slushies), food trucks, game areas and just about everything a beer (or fun) lover needs to feel at home. | Pure Project Brewing, 9030 Kenamar Drive, #308, Miramar, VIP: 12-1 p.m., General Admission: 1-5 p.m.

Thursday, January 30 | Opening Day: The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians spent last year revamping every facet of its brewing operation, overhauling staff, changing up its beer recipes, updating its aesthetic and décor, and giving it a new identity: Rincon Reservation Road Brewery. Be among the first to check out all of the above when it officially opens to the public. | Rincon Reservation Road Brewery at Harrah’s Southern California Resort, 777 South Resort Drive, Valley Center, 2 p.m.
